5th Professional Photojournalism Seminar-Workshop
27 – 31 August June 2009
FSC Forest Complex, Subic Bay Freeport Zone

The Philippine Center for Photojournalism, an organization established in 1997 by noted Filipino photojournalists working in various local and international newspapers and publications, is now accepting participants to the 5th Professional Photojournalism Seminar-Workshop to be held on 27-31 August 2009 at the FSC Forest Complex, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The live-in workshop aims to raise the level of understanding of the roots and current photography and photojournalism trends, enhance artistic and aesthetic practice of the profession as well as promote ethical values. Practical exercises include guided coverage of Subic environs and nearby communities.

The workshop, to be facilitated by some of the country’s top photojournalists and educators including Alex Baluyut, Ernie Sarmiento, Jimmy Domingo, Joan Bondoc, Luis Liwanag, VJ Villafranca, Paolo Picones, Jake Verzosa and Jose Torres, is designed for freelancers, newspaper staff photographers, government and corporate photographers and information officers.

Interested participants, with digital SLR or point and shoot cameras, will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email to mhsepe@gmail.com for registration forms and procedures.

The subsidized workshop fee is P6,000 inclusive of food and accommodation, materials, complementary PCP limited edition t-shirt and certificate of completion. Transportation to venue and back is not covered by the workshop fee.

The workshop is supported by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
